Crofton Silver Band are Wakefield’s premier First Section brass band and one of the most entertaining music ensembles in the Yorkshire area.

The band has gone from strength to strength on the contesting stage, while also building a strong reputation for engaging, high-quality concert performances that connect with audiences across the region.

Crofton Silver Band and Crofton Music Trust sit together within a wider Crofton musical family, sharing values, people, and a deep commitment to making music part of everyday life in the community. While each operates independently, this close relationship means experience, inspiration, and opportunity flow naturally between groups.

Band members regularly support the work of the Trust through joint rehearsals, shared concerts, and mentoring, giving developing players the chance to learn alongside more experienced musicians and feel part of something bigger. The band also provide practical support through access to rehearsal space, instruments, and music, helping create strong foundations for training and progression.
