1:1 Tuition
Alongside our group rehearsals, we offer individual one-to-one brass tuition to support players as they grow.
Lessons usually take place weekly and are shaped around each student. Some need regular support to build confidence and technique, others use lessons to focus on specific challenges that come up in band. There’s flexibility built in, because everyone learns differently.
For players who move up into Training Band, 1:1 tuition is free for under 18s. This level of support is something we know isn’t widely available, and we’re proud to be able to offer it so that commitment and potential aren’t limited by cost.
Tuition is split by instrument family.
Upper brass is taught by Kate, and lower brass is taught by Mary. Lessons are closely linked to what students are playing in band, so progress feels joined-up rather than separate.
For those who want to, lessons can also include support towards music exams. Exams are never a requirement, but they’re available as an option for students who enjoy working towards a goal or would like formal recognition of their progress.
Whether lessons are used for extra support, exam preparation, or simply to grow in confidence, the focus stays the same. Calm, encouraging teaching that helps each player move forward at their own pace.
