Brass Roots

Brass Roots is where it all begins.

It’s our welcoming, low-pressure starting point for anyone who wants to try brass music, whether that’s a child picking up an instrument for the first time or an adult who’s always wanted to play but never had the chance.

Sessions are relaxed, friendly, and built around learning together. No auditions. No expectations to be “good”. Just curiosity, encouragement, and a lot of shared laughs along the way. We focus on the basics at a steady pace, helping players build confidence, learn how their instrument works, and enjoy making music as part of a group.

Brass Roots is about access first. Instruments are provided, sessions are free, and support is built in. We know that cost, confidence, and feeling like you don’t quite belong can stop people before they even start. This space is designed to remove those barriers.

For some, Brass Roots is the start of a longer journey into our Training Band and beyond. For others, it’s simply a place to play, learn, and be part of something musical and social. Both are equally valid.
